About Jody D. Moore
My name is Jody Moore. I am affectionately called “Pastor Jody,” or those real bold ones in my congregation call me “J-Dog.” I pastor a great church in the City of Chino. I have been married for over sixteen (16) years to my girl, Keniya. Together we have four children, and we love the life that God has given us.
I was born and raised in Compton. I was raised by three generations of women: my mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. My father was in and out of my life, and seldom in a positive way. If it were not for the men of the church and male teachers who invested in me, I am not sure how my life would have ended up. I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior at the age of nine in a Sunday School class in a small Methodist Church.
I hate labels, but for the sake of the intro I will succumb to one. I am an Evangelical Conservative Christian in the truest sense of the word. I believe in the authority of scripture and I try to view all things through the lens of a biblical worldview. I love to read, write, preach, play racquetball, and spend time with friends and family. I can be a tad sarcastic (working on that), and I love to joke around with people. If you ever get the chance to know me personally you will see that I do not take myself too seriously. However, I do take the call on my life seriously, and I take my mission to advance the Kingdom of God very seriously.
I have recently written a book called God’s Will >Your Plan. It is a look at how God shapes us in our vocational call through the story of Jonah.
I spent several years in Corporate America in the field of Human Resources where I learned quite a bit about human nature. My passion is around preaching, mentoring leaders, and helping others grow into the likeness of Christ.
